With four solid bangers put together, Huffy is showing just how exciting he is with his brand new EP titled ‘Midfield’. The title track takes on the baton and administers weight and verve to the EP, the punchy sounding violin strings a signal of intent while the scratches that etch along the track impose themselves on listening ears with ease. The second track ‘Farewell’ is a riddim that’s in your face, the sort of production that doesn’t give you space to breath, a very powerful riddim for an MC to arm himself with when he’s dropping shelly bars. ‘Silah’ goes on the front foot, goes straight for your headtop and has the goal of causing a man to wile out for no good reason, an animated riddim with enough firepower to stop you from standing still, a crazed atmosphere on show to finish Huffy’s project with a bang and not a whimper. Huffy has laced ‘Midfield’ with plenty of fizz, it won’t be going flat any time soon. Finishing off the EP, ‘Profit’ has a more laid back feel but the blaring bass here is enough to cause a subwoofer to make some serious wobble, the angelic vocals, delicate in feel against the heavy-handedness of the drum patterns show there are real levels to this production.
