After the release of the ‘Ambience’ EP last year, the mellow vibes and tranquil tones are back in motion as Crown Jules presents the ‘Ambience 2’ EP. The first ‘Ambience’ release saw Crown Jules don dadda J Beatz bring out the flight mode in the beats and this time around, the vibes is no different.
The opening beat called ‘Blue Moon’ starts the EP off with a mix of sultry feeling piano and drum sounds accompanied by soothing vocals, it’s the sort of track that makes you just want to kick back and relax in your gaff and just cotch.
The next production, ‘1 Week’ channels inspiration from the Craig David song ‘7 Days’, this has a proper R&G feel to it. The production is as serene as it is soulful listening to, continuing the relaxing feel that ‘Blue Moon’ started.
‘Bubbles’, a J Beatz collaboration with Juzlo brings an element of funk into the EP. The violin strings, the simple drum effects, the subtle chimes that float around throughout the track, they all make for an excellent sounding track, one with real emotion sounding loud and clear.
‘Bubbles’ isn’t the only collaborative track in this EP. J Beatz combines with Limit to put together the track ‘Sauna Fixed’ which cranks up the bass and changes the tone of the EP, from feeling relaxed, you now feel energised as ‘Sauna’ paints a less easy-going picture. Nevertheless, the flowing, rhythmic tone of the EP doesn’t change.
Finally, finishing off the EP is the riddim called ‘Strawberry Bubblegum’. J Beatz packs in even more funk into this EP with vocals in cohesion with a riddim full of soul and verve. Not only does this EP make you feel relaxed and energised, it makes you feel joyous as well, a fantastic way to conclude the project.
With the simple yet effective variations of tracks in the EP, ‘Ambience 2’ is a project that will lighten the mood and calm the stress levels for any person who listens to it.
